CRLA's Online Teaching and Learning Wiki

Sponsored by the Technology & Distance Learning SIG

What is a wiki? It is a website that allows members to post content, share information, and interact with one another via discussions or blogs.

Check out this video explanation: Wikis in Plain English

This wiki is a great place for you to not only share information and resources about all kinds of online tutoring, online teaching and learning issues, but also get some first-hand experience at using a wiki! There are several things you can do with a wiki, but this one will focus on gathering and sharing resources for topics related to online teaching and learning.

Here's how it works:
  1. Navigation. Click the link at the bottom of the page to get to the list of Teaching and Learning topics. This is the "index" page and each topic will link you to a page of resources for that topic. OR, use the yellow navigation box at the left and click on the page you want to visit.
  2. Contributing.Contributing. If you have something to add to any of the categories, just click the "Edit this Page" button at the top of each page. You can:
  • type in your tip, (or copy and paste text from somewhere else),
  • add a link with the hyperlink button (or paste in a link),
use the "add images" button (palm tree) to downloard images OR documents. Position your cursor on the page where you want the file to go, then double click on the image/file to copy it to the page. TIMESAVER TIP: View the "Take A Tour" from the Wikispaces home page to see how to do this (2 minutes)
  • Be sure to save your changes! It's as easy as that!

I do recommend viewing the "Take a Tour" from the Wikispaces homepage just to familiarize yourself with the site.

Bookmark this site and visit frequently!
Please share your tips, techniques and resources. This has the potential to be a one-stop clearinghouse for online teaching and learning resources! Let's make it so!
